USTER® QUANTUM 2 offers detection of white and colored polypropylene defects using the capacitive sensor, in addition to the detection of regular foreign fiber defects. USTER® QUANTUM 2 LAB Online comprising USTER® QUANTUM EXPERT central data management system, USTER® CAY optimization software, true hairiness measurement, USTER® CLASSIMAT Online and Vegetable Filter, offers unique capabilities that will significantly enhance the quality and consequently the value of your yarns.

ADVANCED SENSORS – UNBEATABLE ACCURACY |
USTER® QUANTUM 2 – The only online quality assurance system that offers you the choice of two sensors for basic clearing. We use capacitive sensors both in the USTER® QUANTUM 2 and in our laboratory equipment – and this for good reason: they are around twice as sensitive as optical devices and enable detection of the smallest yarn faults and irregularities.
The USTER® QUANTUM 2 optical sensor technology is based on Peyer, a pioneer in optical clearers. The short measuring field, high signal to noise ratio sensor, offers higher detection rate, accuracy and lower unjustified cuts compared to conventional optical clearers. |

USTER® QUANTUM 2 offers the scatter plot of yarn fault events on the clearer control unit (CCU 2006) in color! With this illustration, users can adapt their clearing limits according to the basic yarn profile, ensuring consistent quality and cuts day and night.
The quality values correlate closely to the USTER® TESTER 5 and USTER® CLASSIMAT QUANTUM, allowing a continuous quality assessment for 100% of the production. Quality exceptions in each category can be eliminated from production.

With the most powerful illumination and high sensitivity, the USTER® QUANTUM 2 FF-Option can detect even single foreign fibers of very low visibility. The ultrashort measuring field detects and classifies single colored fibers of the widest color spectrum. The freely programmable help points offer the best possibility to optimize quality according to different end user needs. Foreign fiber classification according to the internationally accepted USTER® FOREIGNCLASS helps to assess raw material quality and implement systemic improvements in purchase and quality. With the release of the new USTER® STATISTICS for foreign fibers, USTER® QUANTUM 2 users can benchmark quality levels to international standards.

VEGETABLE FILTER –
HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY WITH MAINTAINED QUALITY |
USTER® QUANTUM 2 enables you to differentiate between organic and non-organic foreign matter. Vegetables, which are organic, can only be detected with a combination of capacitive and optical sensors, a unique feature of the USTER® QUANTUM 2. Since vegetable foreign matter disappears in the bleaching process, it has no affect on appearance and can stay in the yarn. The result is better foreign matter clearing thanks to a significant reduction in the number of cuts and splices, permitting closer clearing limits.
POLYPROPYLENE DETECTION – COLOR DOES NOT MATTER
USTER® QUANTUM 2 addresses one of major reasons for claims in spinning mills: reliable detection and removal of white or colored polypropylene fibers.
The polypropylene detection is based on a unique measuring technique utilizing the capacitive measuring principle, patented by USTER®. The system even ensures detection of white and transparent polypropylene, because the only color that matters is the one you can not see. |

Based on online quality data, woven or knitted fabrics can be simulated and compared with other fabrics. |

Classification per single winding or spinning position, customized classes, customer statistics and enhanced foreign fiber classes enable you to make your yarn unique.
HAIRINESS MONITORING –
MEASUREMENT OF TRUE HAIRINESS
Variations in hairiness in a section of yarn result in an unacceptable cloudy appearance and loss of quality in the subsequent finishing.Thanks to online measurement of true hairiness with the USTER® QUANTUM 2, early monitoring of each ring spinning machine is possible. Spinners can produce yarn of consistent quality – for better appearance in the end product and improved processing efficiency.
