USTER® FM SENSOR – FOREIGN FIBERS
DETECTION AND CLASSIFICATION

Foreign fibers rarely cause a yarn break in the spinning room. However, foreign fibers in the endproduct can render an item completely unsaleable. Fast and reliable detection is therefore extremely important. The USTER® TESTER 5-S800 detects and classifies foreign fibers in the same operation as all the other quality parameters. If cops contaminated with foreign fibers are tested in the spinning room, just a few kilometers of yarn are sufficient to detect that a foreign fiber problem exists. With its USTER® FM SENSOR, the USTER® TESTER 5-S800 offers the most comprehensive quality control there has ever been – and you and your customers will certainly appreciate that.

  FANCY YARN PROFILE –
CONSISTENT QUALITY IN SLUB YARNS

Yarns with slub effects for use in items such as fashionable denim jeans need to appear natural and irregular – yet producers must have precise and consistent control over quality, to minimize complaints and maximize profits. The new USTER® Fancy Yarn Profile for the USTER® TESTER 5-S800 and USTER® TESTER 5-S400 uses a unique measuring method which makes it easier than ever before to obtain all the quality-relevant information for slub yarns, including slub length, distance between slubs, and increases in mass.

Every detail of the slub yarn’s characteristics is highlighted in a series of extended graphic displays and reports – scatter plot, histogram, slub sequence diagrams, bar charts, spectrograms and impressive 3-D displays – for easier and more accurate assessment of yarn characteristics.

KBS – ADVANCE IDENTIFICATION OF MACHINE DEFECTS

USTER®’s patented Knowledge Based System (KBS) simplifies fault detection within a textile production chain as far back as the carding process. Based on the yarn measurements made, the source of any problems and potential damage to spinning machine parts can be identified. In this way, even untrained lab personnel can react quickly, without specialist mechanical training, to avoid production of second-grade quality. The spectrogram detects periodic and nearly periodic faults caused by defective rotating parts with great accuracy and the unique USTER® simulation software provides a rapid visual impression of the appearance of those faults.

That is yet another way in which you will benefit with USTER® as your partner. With top-class quality management, combined with our standards and inspection instruments, you have a package of unique advantages – helping you achieve excellent quality at an economic cost.
