Key features are the measurement of the globally-accepted CVm and the detection of imperfections for the material being tested. The capacitive measuring method used by the USTER® TESTER 5 provides highly-accurate control of mass variation in yarn, roving and sliver.

Results from the USTER® TESTER 5 can be correlated automatically with USTER® STATISTICS values the benchmarking tools of the industry’s accepted global standards for quality comparisons.

S800/S400

  • USTER® FM optical sensor – measures and classifies all foreign matter in the yarn
  • USTER® HAIRINESS ‘H’ value from the OH module – early warning of potential problems and the basis for yarn trading
  • USTER® OM module – measures the diameter variation, shape and density of the yarn, so users can predict how the yarn will look in the finished fabric

  • USTER® Fancy Yarn Profile – takes slub yarn measurement to new level, to simplify the complex process of fancy yarn manufacture
  • Knowledge Based System (KBS) – pinpoints the source of faults throughout the production chain
