Uster FiberQ drives production efficiency and cost control

However, there are still serious challenges, such as fluctuating raw material prices, rising labor costs, high finance charges and unpredictable swings in market demand. So, ORTA decided to focus on optimizing production costs where possible – while ensuring product quality and operating efficiencies stayed at the levels required to compete in its international markets of USA, Europe and China.
Spinning Group Manager Orhan Herdem said the company identified the need to focus on data-driven knowledge to take control of its raw material utilization, and make the correct decisions for process efficiency, quality and productivity. The company chose the FiberQ system from Uster, offering a comprehensive system for fiber management from the start and throughout the mill processes. The large share of overall costs take up by raw material purchasing made this an appealing prospect for improvement.
“This program introduced a significant systematic approach to the cotton blending preparation process and has made a substantial contribution to ensuring quality consistency,” Mr Herdem said.
ORTA has its production facility in Kayseri, Türkiye, while company headquarters is in Istanbul. A textile manufacturer since 1953 and a denim producer since 1985, the firm today operates 66,000 spindles for a daily production of 55,000 kg. Among its groundbreaking innovations have been multi-count yarn fabrics, luxury cashmere-touch denim, and the introduction of bi-stretch technology, which revolutionized comfort and fit. It continues to set new global standards in the industry for high-performance, sustainable denim fabrics.
